Camera Pictures:: Easter Morning

A few years ago for Christmas we got a nice Canon camera-sadly we are not very good at remembering to use it! I think we have used it twice since moving to Washington-so this post is just an upload of pictures from there.  Most are from the Tulip farm we went too a few weekends ago. This first one JT took randomly one day of Thomas...it might be one of my favorite pictures of him.  I just love him and his red hair and big blue eyes.

These next ones are from Easter morning.  We had a lazy Easter morning, with it being conference weekend (which was fabulous).  General Conference weekends are my favorite-I always feel so spiritually refreshed and renewed and like I can do anything!  We had a big yummy breakfast with cinnamon rolls and fruit and sausage bake and juice and relaxed most of the day.  Thomas was so curious about his trail of eggs leading to his basket, and he probably just stared at his little basket for a good minute or two before going to touch it...almost like he wasn't sure if he was allowed to or not.

Clearly we need to be much better about getting our camera out.  Something to work on!

And some phone randoms from the weekend too:

Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm

Oh it's just 4 in the morning again. Why is insomnia part of pregnancy?! At least I'm  blogging more.

Yesterday we drove about 45 minutes outside portland to the Wooden Shoe tulip farm. I pictured this being just like the tulip festival at Thanksgiving point-it was beautiful. But not the same at all. Literally a huge farm in the middle of nowhere with tulips as far as you can see. Which resulted in SO. MUCH. MUD. No paved walkways at all. We slipped and trudged through that mud and just laughed the whole time, I'm surprised none of us wiped out. I was wearing sandals-bad idea. And thomas was dressed all cute, I thought we would get pictures among the tulips and it would be wonderful and perfect. Instead I just gave up and his church shoes are now more brown then grey. Oops. Isn't that how life usually works out? JT didn't wear a coat and it ended up being freezing way out there. But we had fun and it really was so pretty. My mom would have loved this place. The northwest is one of the prettiest places.
23 weeks today!!
See all that mud and water? Our stroller wheels were caked in it, along with my toes and Thomas's everything.
They had a big area set up with music and blow up inflatable things and sandboxes and slides for the kids. It really was so fun and Thomas didn't know how to handle all the excitement going on around him. He just walked around taking it all in.

This was his favorite thing to do by far. JT went to get us some food and Thomas didn't move from here for a good half an hour. We need a sand box I guess! And more big trucks. Whenever he sees a truck driving he asks over and over again "what's that?" Trucks and airplanes are his thing.

Our new mattress came today too. We caved and bought a king size bed. We were used to it back in Utah and our queen was a million years old and so uncomfortable that we were using here. I blame my pregnant body/insomnia for that random purchase right now-but it is heavenly to have my own sleep bubble back. And it is so nice to have with kids, especially a new baby! So even though I'm awake at least I'm comfy.

And finally-the Rec center had a free swim night so we took Thomas tonight. We haven't been since last summer-i thought he would love it. He hated it for the first 20 minutes! But I refused to give up and leave, so we gave him a ball and sat him on this raft and he was okay. But only on the raft-with as many balls as possible.
"Give me all the balls mom!!"
We will have to keep trying so he loves it more.

And now-sleep I hope! 9 am church comes way too early sometimes.

This weather makes me happy.

Sorry to everyone on the east coast who is freezing and suffering feet of snow...Washington is in the 60s and sunny lately and I couldn't be happier! Thomas is obviously pretty happy about it too!!
Where JT goes, Thomas usually follows. He is such a daddy's boy and I love it. It will definitely make the transition from one to two much easier. Also I absolutely loved the trees at the park we went to today. They were huge. And it was gorgeous there.

Thomas is going to be 17 months next week. I can't believe it! He has grown up so much since we moved away.
His favorite things:
-Stacking puzzle pieces, foam letters, any kind of "piece" toy. I kid you not he plays with them for a few hours a day, just sitting there and stacking and making piles from place to place.
-Talking on his play phone, and holding up to his ear--which usually is put at the back of his neck instead
-Bath time. He has lived baths since he was a baby! Sometimes he goes to the bathroom door and cries because he wants to get in the tub so badly.
-Telling us clearly when he is hungry by running to his booster and whining to get in
-hearing airplanes and pointing to them, watching them, really anything about them.
-Cuddles and stories before bedtime or naps. He will sit forever before he goes to sleep if I would let him
-His disney bed time story book
-Daddy time
-running to the door saying dad over and over again when he hears JTs keys in the lock
-hide and seek
-Playing at any park and going for walks. Really just being outside!
-Blowing on anything we say is "hot"

My not so favorite things:
-constant whining it seems. He just tries so hard to communicate and he's not quite there yet! I can't wait for him to be able to tell me what he wants. Soon enough I guess!
-tantrums if he doesn't get his way, or we have to interrupt him when he's super into whatever he is playing. He arches his back and throws himself backwards...one of these days he will seriously hurt himself.
-picky eating stage still! Some days he eats everything, and the next he throws 6 things on the floor before I find a winner. The struggle is real.
-church. ONE more month people then he goes to nursery! I can't wait to sit through meetings again, for a few months at least!

Today.

I can't believe that it's February already. Time seems to flying by this pregnancy, I will be 16 weeks tomorrow! Days seem long but looking back its gone by so fast. It scares me and makes me excited all at once. Having kids 21 months apart will definitely keep my hands full!

Today we went up to the Adidas employee store. Thomas has needed some new shoes and they had such awesome cute ones there for way cheap. We got two pairs for $30! One for now and one in a bigger size. I really love them. Nothing is cuter then little baby shoes.
JT bought a golf glove and I didn't get anything, I have a hard time buying clothes when I know I will be huge very soon.
Behind these monster shoes a bunch of people were playing soccer. Thomas wanted in on that game and would have gone right on the field if I hadn't dragged him away.
Afterwards we went to Beaverton to a place called Papas Pizza Parlor, or something like that. It had a huge kids play area so we let Thomas get some energy out. It was packed with like a million birthday parties so he was a little hesitant, but it wore him out! A lot of parties were huge family groups, and JT and I talked about how alone we really are out here. Seeing all the families made us both realize that. It made us a little homesick! We've both always lived by all of our families, it's hard but we are slowly getting used to it.
Thomas also ate SO much pizza. Like almost three pieces.
We all came home and took long long naps, it rained most of the day, we went to Target for some random things, and we are for the most part finally over all the sickness in our house!
JT can't resist putting any hat he sees in a store on Thomas.
And some random pictures from our week:
His favorite tickle spots. Bottom of his legs and his face. He goes completely still and just lays there. It's hilarious
Helping clean the floor is a new favorite thing.
We bought this on sale at toys r us. He LOVES it.
Rainy walk before bed
Also. This is my proud moment of the week. All of this from Carter's for less then $50! We've reached the point of no more hand me downs sadly so I've been searching for good deals. He's just about in 2T shirts because he is so tall!

This is so fitting (literally) for my life right now. It's been one hundred million times harder moving here then I ever expected. The constant rain and getting dark at 4:00 makes me lazy and grumpy, and it's especially hard trying to adjust to life knowing you have to make all new friends. I'm so grateful we moved to a great area with a wonderful ward. I know it will take time to feel comfortable, but for now I just need to remember all of the good things we have been blessed with.
