March picture randoms

Lots of random pictures going up today, truly our lives are not that exciting most days! Thomas had his first pediatrician appt last week out here, just his intake appointment. He ended up getting his 18 month vaccinations though so we went expecting a happy visit and it ended up being super dramatic. Poor little guy. Shots are awful! He did enjoy their coloring easel though while waiting for the doctor. He is 34" tall and 25 pounds! Hard to believe he is so big already. I also am mourning the loss of the many pediatricians in Utah county. We were so spoiled there. Hopefully we learn to love a doctor out here just as much.
As long as he stays healthy we won't have to go back until he is TWO. I can't even wrap my head around that. I can't have a two year old so soon!! And by that point baby sister will be here...can time slow down please?

His puppy is the first thing he wants to see and say hi to when he wakes up in the morning or from his nap. He gives it a big hug and usually sits down in its lap to read a book there. If he's ever upset about something saying hi to his puppy usually stops the tears instantly.
Our neighbors across the street have two huge dogs that are always out on their raised deck. Thomas could stand outside for hours just watching and pointing at them. His love for dogs is almost enough to make me consider getting another dog. Almost. JT has been pushing for one too but I won't even consider it until new baby is at least a year old. But it's hard to say no when they both want one so bad!!!

Fish face and noises. A new favorite thing. He also says "boo" for "moo" like a cow, makes monkey noises and snake noises and rawrs for lions. His reusable stickers I found for cheap at target are all different animals, and he will pick them up and make their sounds, all the time. It's especially fun when he rawrs really loud at church and shows the people around us the lion.

We went to Salmon Creek park early this morning. I have been so awful at getting outside with him lately, and I have no excuse because it has been so nice here! He literally begged at the door for half an hour after JT went to work this morning. So we got ready quick and went on a walk and played for a good hour and a half. He loves chasing the ducks and scaring them from the grass, and he has no issues with sitting in the middle of the gravel trail to play in the rocks and dirt. He is such a boy.

This weather makes me happy.

Sorry to everyone on the east coast who is freezing and suffering feet of snow...Washington is in the 60s and sunny lately and I couldn't be happier! Thomas is obviously pretty happy about it too!!
Where JT goes, Thomas usually follows. He is such a daddy's boy and I love it. It will definitely make the transition from one to two much easier. Also I absolutely loved the trees at the park we went to today. They were huge. And it was gorgeous there.

Thomas is going to be 17 months next week. I can't believe it! He has grown up so much since we moved away.
His favorite things:
-Stacking puzzle pieces, foam letters, any kind of "piece" toy. I kid you not he plays with them for a few hours a day, just sitting there and stacking and making piles from place to place.
-Talking on his play phone, and holding up to his ear--which usually is put at the back of his neck instead
-Bath time. He has lived baths since he was a baby! Sometimes he goes to the bathroom door and cries because he wants to get in the tub so badly.
-Telling us clearly when he is hungry by running to his booster and whining to get in
-hearing airplanes and pointing to them, watching them, really anything about them.
-Cuddles and stories before bedtime or naps. He will sit forever before he goes to sleep if I would let him
-His disney bed time story book
-Daddy time
-running to the door saying dad over and over again when he hears JTs keys in the lock
-hide and seek
-Playing at any park and going for walks. Really just being outside!
-Blowing on anything we say is "hot"

My not so favorite things:
-constant whining it seems. He just tries so hard to communicate and he's not quite there yet! I can't wait for him to be able to tell me what he wants. Soon enough I guess!
-tantrums if he doesn't get his way, or we have to interrupt him when he's super into whatever he is playing. He arches his back and throws himself backwards...one of these days he will seriously hurt himself.
-picky eating stage still! Some days he eats everything, and the next he throws 6 things on the floor before I find a winner. The struggle is real.
-church. ONE more month people then he goes to nursery! I can't wait to sit through meetings again, for a few months at least!

Just another Thomas post

I'm not in the mood to write a ton so I'll just put up a bunch of pictures from the past few days! Sunday afternoon we went down to the Columbia River to a trail there, it was kind of drizzling and wet out but Thomas loved it.
Until he face dived into the water. I didn't see it happen but JT said his head was totally under water. And it was so cold! Surprisingly he didn't cry, just made a really sad face. He was just shocked I think. And extremely soaking wet.
Of course we had no extra clothes so it cut our exploring short. We went to this trail again though and it's gorgeous! I love that it's so close.
Valentine's surprise package from my mom. She's the best, and we miss her so much!
We made valentine cupcakes and Thomas demolished his. He loved it all. A lot more then his first birthday cake.
Playing at Dizzy Castle on a rainy day.
These condos are along our favorite trail. They are sooo pretty, I would love to have that view everyday!
Walks are our favorite.

Today it was like 65 degrees and so sunny and gorgeous out. We went to the park by JTs work today and got lunch with daddy. A pair of missionaries walked in to eat at the little pizza place we went too. I have always wanted to secretly pay for their meals somewhere but it was so common in Utah we never did! I got really  excited to do it today, so we didn't say anything to them and just added their check to ours when we paid. It left me feeling so happy, I wish I could have seen their faces. JT said it was rare to have that happen on your mission, especially places where members aren't as common. I hope we made their day a little bit better and brighter. It definitely made my day.

Rain

This is what my phone says for the next ten days here:
Granted, when it does rain it really is just a light drizzle and it doesn't last all day, but still. This is so different from utah! Even in the winter the sun typically shines every day. I can see why the depression rates are so high here. And why people drink so much coffee. I don't know if it's the weather or just being pregnant with a one year old, but I constantly feel tired and lazy.

It rained most of today, surprising right? But when thomas woke up from his nap it decided to give us a break and stop for awhile. We went to a cute park right in downtown Vancouver that happens to be right by JTs office. He walked over to hang out with us for a little bit, and Thomas had so much fun. He still has a little cough and cold but after days of being cooped up we needed some fresh air! It also is right by the portland airport so planes fly over literally every minute or two. Whenever he would hear one, he would point up in the sky and search and search for it until he found it. No matter what he was doing he would stop and watch until it disappeared. I love how aware he is at this age. It makes life so fun.

Everything was super wet and initially I tried to keep Thomas dry, but I gave that up quickly. Too much work. He got soaked from the knees down and didn't mind one bit.
Plane watching
I found this coat at Costco the other day. The smallest size was a 2T and it came with pants and a shirt, but it was cheap and we needed something that would be water resistant! He looked a little ghetto with the coat and his Jordan's but whatever. Still cute. He is officially in size 6 shoes and these are his only pair, that JT bought when he was super little thinking they would fit-I need to find him some more!
He also decided to drag his blanket around as walked around the trail. It was so cute. His blanket is one thing that always earns a smile and a fast run to get it whenever he sees it.

Weekend in Washington

This past weekend was the first weekend we've had all by ourselves since the end of July! It was weird to not be at one of our parents house. Saturday we spend doing house things and watching football, with an IKEA trip in there to get a few things for Thomas's playroom. Sunday I was really excited to go to our new ward and meet some people, but JT woke up with some kind of stomach bug and spent the day sick in bed. It was the first time since I've met him that he has been sick. Thomas didn't seem to feel great either so we stayed home and took care of daddy.
A visitor on our back deck, Thomas was really upset when it decided to leave.
Playing in his teepee from grandma and grandpa Richardson. He loves it!
This IKEA play tunnel was like $14 and he loves it.
Lately he will not nap in his crib! This was a desperate go on a drive moment to get him to take a much needed nap.
Loungin
Yes he has a mullet when his hair is wet. He also has the cutest little baby bum!!

This morning we needed out of the house so we went to a park down the street from our house I've been wanting to go too since we found it. It rained through the night but we got lucky and it wasn't raining at all this morning!
I cannot get over how green everything is here. And the trees. They are huge.
We got out to play for a minute but everything was so wet, and Thomas was perfectly happy sitting in his stroller. He loves being outside more then anything else.
So green. I cannot wait for warmer weather!!
